Trail Daze of Summer Work Party at Walden’s Ridge
We all use the trails—so let’s take care of them together!Join SORBA Chattanooga, Southeastern Climbers Coalition (SCC), and Hamilton County Parks & Recreation for a collaborative trail work day at Walden’s Ridge Park. We’re teaming up to tackle key maintenance projects including trimming back corridor vegetation, rock armoring and stabilizing spur trails. Whether you ride, hike, or climb at Walden’s Ridge, this is a great chance to give back.What to Expect: We’ll split into small crews for targeted trail work including lopping, corridor clearing, and heavy rock work. Open to everyone!Get ready to dial in your lines and explore Lookout Mountain with SORBA Chattanooga and Lula Lake Land Trust during our Five Points 50/25 Course Preview Ride series leading up to the Oct. 24th race! This group ride will be held at the Moonshine Trails property, but starting at the Core Preserve property.Whether you're racing or just want to ride with a great crew, these are for you. Can’t make this one? More group rides are coming, each highlighting different sections of the course so you can get comfortable before race day.About the ride: The section of the race course covered will include the trails on Lula Lake's Moonshine trail system. This ride will be 7 miles with approximately 500 ft. of vertical gain. All of the trails are mostly single track with a combination of long climbs, fast downhills, technical rock gardens, and smooth flowy trails. These rides will roll at a social pace, but the terrain is no joke—expect a mix of flow, roots, and climbs that will keep you on your toes. No one will be left behind!Date: Thursday, Sept. 10thMeeting Time: Please arrive no later than 5:45 pm ET. Day of Caring Trail Work Party at Booker T Washington
Join SORBA Chattanooga and Booker T. Washington State Park for the United Way’s Day of Caring as we team up to protect and preserve one of Chattanooga’s beloved trail systems!We’ll be working together to remove invasive plant species from the park’s Nature Trail, helping to maintain the health of the native ecosystem and ensure the trail remains beautiful and accessible for hikers, bikers, and nature lovers.No prior experience is necessary!All tools will be provided on-site, along with instruction and guidance from experienced trail stewards.
